Our half barrels begin their journey at cooperages in Kentucky, built from American white oak and charred on the inside to age bourbon. After aging Kentucky bourbon through multiple distillery runs, the oak stops imparting flavor to the spirit and the barrels are retired. We source these retired Kentucky bourbon barrels and bring them to Vancouver Island. Cut precisely in half, they make incredible garden planters, fire pits, water features, or statement decor pieces. Every barrel carries real char, real stave wear, and years of bourbon-aging history.
